Climate Chamber

We use our recently completed Climate Chamber to test products that affect human comfort or whose performance depends on environmental conditions. We can control the temperature of the air and of individual surfaces, air velocity, and relative humidity.

We also use the chamber to demonstrate comfort phenomena in the context of buildings and design criteria. For example, we can simulate for owners the physical experience of improved comfort resulting from deep retrofits that upgrade building envelopes; these not only raise the radiant temperature in spaces to improve comfort, but also reduce energy use.

The Climate Chamber leveraged Oregon BEST’s original investment with additional funding from the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance and product donations from The Modern Fan Co. and Aero Tech Manufacturing.
